Private planes, $30,000 conference tables, and a Bentley convertible are just a few of the items purchased by US Televangelists, who skipped past the sales tax, by using their tax exempt status.
Gifts, loans and multi-million dollar real estate deals, should raise red flags and begin an onslaught of warrants being issued for money laundering and fraud. Or should I say- if it were any other business, besides big religion? Their flocks will tithe a hard earned 10 percent, praying on Sunday that they will have enough gas on Monday, while board members travel and live in opulence.
Fast food and Starbucks have been seen popping up in sanctuary halls across America, and still they retain tax-exempt status. Bravo to Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, who sees that greed and gluttony are the mainstays of the televangelists, and they should be charged accordingly.
