No, it isn’t to boost moral.  Who would have thought the most annoying stuff to come out of a can, since Cheze Wiz- could save lives?

 From CNN

DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (AP) — After months of frustration, a mother of a soldier in Iraq has found someone to ship about 80,000 cans of Silly String to the troops, who use the foamy substance to detect trip wires on bombs.

They spray the cans, and if there are trip wires, the strings will show them. A very great idea for a can of very annoying kids’ crap
