I wasn’t going to rant about this. But they put it into Service in Iraq. Yes the $30 billion, not 20 as stated in this news report, over weight - over budget - flying target has been transported to the battlefield, and we should all say a prayer - for anyone on the ground. Forgetting the cost over-runs, the V-22 Osprey has claimed 30 lives- in what must have been a mad dash for production, and the next chunk of our tax dollars.
What really burns my still pert ass is that there is a SAFE hybrid aircraft, on the drawing tables and proto-type tested for more than 8 years. No matter the mishaps, wheels-up landings- engine failures - fire, the Carter Copter hasn’t logged a single injury to pilot or crew.
What a shame and a pity, if the Gov’t and the men who have seen her fly- don’t remember this gem of a project, and build a machine our Troops could rely on.
