Spring Beckons

by @ 10:08 am on June 18, 2007.

I remember the very first “good Spring” in this part of dusty ole TEXAS. It was the year my Son graduated HS, and I was DEEP in prayer, petitioning for cooler temps so I wouldn’t have to cram 30 people into a Home that gets cozy, at an even dozen. Even the Georgians would have melted in the usual heat we expect by the end of May, when outdoor activities are best finished before 10 AM!

I planted that first garden with Faith it wouldn’t die, before our Honored guests had come and gone. I remember sitting on the stoop with roy, just jaw in’, all the work was done and I was chattering happily about NEXT Spring and my plans to expand. My roy is so sweet, but he’s not an optimist, AT ALL!  Reminding me that Next Spring, could be just like the first 8 I had already lived through, was just that Okie Logic again.

A scant 72 hours of wild flowers, then - BANG - Summer! Brutal. Pizza oven hot. Now add a steady wind, and you have the reason our Chamber Of Commerce can only claim 56 golfing days, per year.

Ha! Here it is a BEAUTIFUL season, once again, and I’m up with my birds and outside past dawn. Happy sigh …

So I’m thinkin’ -  it isn’t true, that you Cannot Petition The Lord, with prayer. ;)

Spring beckons! All things to the call respond; the trees are leaving and cashiers abscond.
